Gayle M. Gruenberg, Chief Executive Organizer

Hello, and welcome to Let’s Get Organized, LLC!  Thank you for visiting our home on the web.

Many people ask me how I became a Professional Organizer.

The short answer: I jumped in with both feet.

The long answer: I am a recovered Certified Public Accountant.  I knew there had to be a more creative and personally fulfilling career out there, but I didn't know what it was.  I took off from work for the month of November 2003, to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.  At the same time, I planned to renovate my bathrooms and organize my garage. My grandmother had died 2 1/2 years before, and I was ready to go through the boxes of her things.

I had sent an email to a former colleague, asking her opinion about what career I would be good at, not telling her about my home improvement projects. Her answer was, "Have you ever considered becoming a Professional Organizer?"  Of course!  That's it!  How obvious!  How perfect!  Ironically, I had registered the name Let's Get Organized in 1992, so I formed the company, reached out to everyone I knew, and told them I was becoming a Professional Organizer. The rest is history!

I love what I do so much that I wanted to take an active leadership role in the profession.  I joined NAPO, the National Association of Professional Organizers, and within a month became a volunteer at the national level, a New Member Ambassador (I was even on my own list of new members to call to introduce them to NAPO!).  I joined the New York chapter of NAPO and served on the Get Organized (GO) Month planning committee.

I got tired of shlepping into New York City for chapter meetings, so I decided to form a local chapter.  I have been the founding and current president of NAPO-Northern New Jersey since October 22, 2005.  I have taken training through NAPO-in-the-Schools, and I will be participating in NAPO's new Special Interest Groups Committee.  I have also recently become a member of the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization (NSGCD).  So I give back and I learn.

I wear a pin that says Change Your Life. Get Organized.  I can say from experience that being organized, becoming a Professional Organizer, and helping clients achieve their organizing goals have certainly changed my own life.  I look forward to sharing that knowledge and excitement with you!
